Our Veggie garden is looking fabulous ... we have harvested lettuces, cucumbers, peas & courgettes for our morning/afternoon teas. Following along with all this interest we decided to check out the Winton Autumn Flower show. So on Fri off we went ... children got to use the camera and took some fantastic digi images. There were lots of vegetables, flowers, decorations and also we got to see our own Winton Kindergarten display. Kylie & Judy sneaked along on Wed afternoon and displayed lots of our life-cycle work ... clay, collage, screen printing ... it looked fantastic. The children were sooooo surprised. Thanks to everyone who was able to come along as Parent Help. The children and visitors were so proud of all the work ... well done everyone. And lots of people thought our Mosiac butterfly was fantastic. But there is still more ... we are off to the Strawberry Farm (Oreti) on Friday morning to harvest some more goodies. Check your pockets for details. Judy & Kylie will be away Mon & Tue to a course in Dunedin. See you all on Wednesday. Kite ano.

Haere Mai to Maisie
Maisie the Butterfly has hatched out ... and has created quite a stir. One of our questions we have posed to the children is ... I wonder... how does a butterfly know how to fly? Jack thoughts were '... they flap their wings'. You are so right Jack. We have also learnt some new words ... instinct ... they just know how !!! Other new words include ... chrysalis, pupa, cocoon and metamorphosis (all the transformation stages). The children are developing such a wonderful sense of respect and thoughtfulness as they delicately hold Maisie.
Great to see the living world ... in action.

Haere Mai - Welcome Back everyone
Haere Mai - Welcome Back everyone. Great to have everyone back. The children have just been buzzing ... sharing all their holiday adventures with us. Good to see the weather didn't deter anyone.
We have some NEW visitors to kindergarten. Along with our wonderful new teacher Kylie Arnesen we also have some new friends. Check them out. As such, we have been discussing life-cycles along with ... going on various BUG hunts. If you find any bugs at home could you bring them along ... so we can share them with our new friends. Thanks Casie for bringing in your 'Billy the Bug'.
DON'T FORGET OUR AGM ON WEDNESDAY 11 FEBRUARY. We have 5 of our committee leaving this term and we NEED some new faces and ideas. We would love you to join us on Wed night ... ask Judy or Kylie for further details.
Our Kindy BLOG will be updated each Thursday ... so save this in your favourites & check it out each Friday.
Have a great week.
