Term 1 Week 6

Forest Kindy - Welcome to Liam Hartley, Ava Chapman, Riley Scobie and Lexi Dickson who all joined the Forest Kindy group this week! And a big thank you to our helpers this week - Gladys Chavez, Anna Pulley, Sam Scott and Sarina Faalologo. This week Tingah-Bell and Mum Sarina shared with us their secret blackberry bush and took us into the heart of the Forest where they had started to construct a stick house over the weekend. With everyone on board we soon had one side well camouflage - perhaps we will use this as our maimai was one suggestion:)

Plunket's Hug a Bear Appeal - Teddy's Bears Picnic - invites went out this week to join in on the fun next Wednesday and Thursday...Bring along your best loved bear (named), a healthy snack for shared picnic and if you would a donation for Plunket. We have Plunket visiting the group as well as other fun planned for each day :)

Term 1 Week 5

Forest Kindy - This week we welcomed Rianne Timpac to the group. Thanks to our Helpers: Campbell Laughton and Brenda Harvey.

Winton Autumn Flower Show- check out some pics from our walk along to the Show today. Thanks to all our helpers! We had a great time viewing, smelling, and being involved in this special community event. Well done to everyone who was awarded certificates - ka pai to mahi/great work!

The TF Group have been busy bees at their construction site aka the sandpit...Designing, digging, sculpting, and working as a huge team to create our own Oreti River - many hands really do make light work!

Term 1 Week 4

Another busy week at Winton Kindy!! Happy School Days to Isaac Ellis, off to Winton School.

Forest Kindy was a blast, a big thank you to our helpers , Jeff ("Pop"), Brenda and Gladys. River crossing skills, tree climbing, insect investigations and more...Welcome to Jovi our newest Forest Kindy kid!

Our Wear Red for Healthy Hearts Days were a huge success - everyone looked radiant in red, and what delicious and healthy morning teas we enjoyed on Wednesday and Thursday! Linda Harris of the Heart Foundation joined us on Wednesday to talk to the group about our heart and healthy lifestyles. Click on the NZ Heart Foundation link on the right for more updates. We raised $34.50 for the cause, awesome!

The Winton Autumn Flower Show takes place next week ... Fri 20 Feb. The TF Group have been busy working on our group entry, while the Discovery Time children from our MTW Group have been working on individual kites made from sticks gathered at Ivy Russell Reserve. A notice went out today and their is a permission sign sheet at the desk (8 helpers please).

Term 1 Week 3

This week we farewelled Oliver Keith and family off to Winton School. We welcomed Flynn Turner to our MTW Group - great to have you with us again Turner family! Forest Kindy has started, and what an adventurous morning we had at the Dragon's Den renovating the Kindy Castle, burying each other in the fallen leaves, eating morning tea inside the Castle, creating Ninja Turtle swords and nunchucks with sticks and string, exploring our special place - Ivy Russell Reserve, and, learning some of the rules and culture of this unique group with our five newbies on Tuesday.


WINTON AUTUMN FLOWER SHOW 19TH & 20TH FEB
It's now only two weeks to go until the annual Winton Autumn Flower Show...The children while be busy during this time working on our group entry. We will walk down to the event held at the Memorial Hall with the TF Group...A notice and sign sheet will be out next week :)


WEAR RED FOR HEALTHY HEARTS 11th & 12th FEB - Notices were put into Parent Pockets this week for our special days next week in support of the National Heart Foundation. On Wednesday and Thursday next week we ask families to dress in red, bring along a healthy red snack for shared morning tea, and a gold coin donation...We can't wait to see how creative our children and whanau can be with their costumes and kai/food!
