A big kia ora to Evelyn Barrie who joined us this week!

And a fond farewell to Cooper McDowall - best wishes for your adventures at Winton School!

Forest Kindy - wow, what an action-packed day we had in honour of our friend and leader Cooper's last Forest Kindy Day! Racing round the dirk bike track pretending to be American Mustangs, bulldozing the Kindy Castle tracks, tree climbing, watching Nick Batt dump dirt off for the College vegetable garden - a fitting farewell for our petrol-head! And a fun0filled way to welcome Lucas and Greta to the group also! We searched for Huhu Grubbs for the tuatara at the Southland Museum...digging in the rotting logs and stumps at the Reserve. And with so many new children, we stopped in at the Ivy Russell Reserve sign to talk about who this special lady was, challenging the group to find her portrait back at Kindy!

Capital E Production of Shu's Song at the Civic Theatre

We invite you to step inside the imaginary world of our engaging character; Shu, and watch the ordinary world become extraordinary.
This live show will delight and inspire young people as Shu discovers the secret life of everyday objects in a home office. Shu’s imagination brings these objects to life in this charming and inventive story about exploring our environments and building relationships.
Sound and music are key elements of the show, using tone, volume, and composition to demonstrate emotion, communication and purpose. In fact, sound, movement, puppetry and light replace speech, creating a non-verbal visual theatre experience that provides each audience member with opportunity to connect and understand the story through their individual perspective.
Shu’s Song reflects a young person’s world of discovery and imagination. It tells a story we will all recognise – a path to understanding our complex world and the challenges faced along the way.
The show provides a great opportunity for children to explore and discover drama and sound, to understand the concepts of what can be achieved when working together as a group, and to respond to live theatre – another experience that may be new in their lives.

Hi there Blake!

Planting - Our vege garden looks amazing - thanks to all our "Green Fingered" Friends for their help this week with planting our peas, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes and strawberries! Our strawberries "had" to go in the hanging baskets, as Walter Reed proudly informed the group - "I will sneak the strawberries out of the garden!" I don't think you're alone there Walter! We now wait in anticipation for our delicious fresh garden to flourish! And a big thanks to Lucas Campbell for bringing along all his double-ups of the New Worlds Little Garden range.
