The tamariki explore the sushi table... |
Last week Millie Scott was picked up early to go to town...A group of children were sitting round the kai table eating lunch and overheard that Millie would be having sushi for lunch - What's sushi?!?! Georgia set up a provocation for the children on Monday morning with a range of ingredients, chop sticks, and a sushi kit. We explored the textures and tastes and talked about how we might make our own later in the week. On Tuesday the group cooked the rice. Wednesday was the big sushi-making day and the children were eager to get involved! It was great to see so many children trying out the sushi for the first time...I wonder if sushi has been requested on the menu at home since this experience!
