Term 1 Week 2

A warm welcome this week to Hugo Dolan and family, and to all our returning friends after the holidays.

This week we have welcomed the sun with lots of water play, finger painting on the art easel and exploration outdoors. Inside Judy has introduced some new action stories and songs, including our favourite feline, Pete the Cat's "My four groovy buttons", as well as an old favourite "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" - lots of fun and laughter. In the Project Room and at Discovery Time with Linda, the group have been working on creating flower collages using rolled up coloured card - these look very effective!!

Over the next two weeks we will be working on our entries for this year's Winton Autumn Flower Show which is to be held on Thur 13th/Fri 14th at the Memorial Hall. On Friday the 14th we plan to walk along to the show with the group to view the entries - we required a ratio of at least 1 adult:4 children and we would love your help on the day, more details to follow next week but if you are able to come along please let Christina know - thanks!! After our outstanding achievements at the Autumn Flower Show, we are really looking forward to working alongside the children to see what amazing creations and ideas they will come up with - watch this space!!

We also have the New Zealand Heart Foundation "Wear Red for Healthy Hearts" coming up on Wed 12th for the MTW Group and Thur 13th for the TF Group. To show our support we would love to see everyone dressed in red, and to please bring along something red and healthy for shared morning tea and a gold coin donation for the cause. A BIG thanks :)

PARENT GROUP EVENT - ALL KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES WELCOME :)
Picnic @ Forrest Hill on Sunday the 16th of February from 4pm
What to Bring: Your own food, drink, bbq (if you want), outdoor games to share, and of course your family!!
If raining it will be held at the Kindy and notification will be on the radio and the Winton Community Facebook page.

Term 1 Week 1 2014

A warm welcome back to all our children and families, and a big welcome to our new children who have joined us this week: Ava Chapman, Riley Scobie, Eden Pilkington, Jodi Graham, and Harley Rhodes.

We hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and have enjoyed their not-so-Summery Break! We still have lots of families away making the most of their time together before school starts for older siblings, and for the children with us at Kindy it has been a nice time to catch up with friends! At Morning Meeting on Tuesday everyone in the group shared what they did in the holidays - which brought up the  lots on ideas about "What is a Holiday?". At the end of our meeting Caitlyn's Mum brought in the ten snails they had collected from their garden - thanks for sharing the children have loved viewing these through the magnifying glass on the light box over the week. The sun joined us on today and so too did the face paint - a nice way to end our first week back!
