Thank you to Justine Maguire - our fabulous reliever while Judy was on her African Safari. On Monday morning we look forward to welcoming Judy back to Kindy - we can't wait to show her our Polyfest Waka and what we have been up to while she has been away!

A warm welcome to Carl "CJ" McDougall and family, joining the TF Group this week. With LOTS of new families joining our Kindy this term we would LOVE to have some new faces and ideas come along to our Parent Group Meetings - another way to forge relationships with families that will be a part of your childs life long learning journey. Please let one of the teaching team know if you would like to come onboard - next meeting is not until the 10th of August, so plenty of time to decide...many thanks.

WINTON SCHOOL VISIT US AT KINDY
On Monday we welcomed Winton School's New Entrant Classrooms. We shared our Kindergartens South Waiata to welcome the group, followed by enjoying morning tea together. It was fabulous to catch up with our ex-Kindy friends and their new teachers. Our morning finished with sharing our Matariki story and one of our Polyfest Performance waiata. We look forward to catching up again next term.

LOCHIEL SCHOOL PRODUCTION - ALICE THE MUSICAL
On Wednesday we were invited to attend the dress rehearsal of Lochiel School's Production. Again, it was great to see all our old friends and see how awesomely they are getting on at school and on stage! Olivia Anderson, Lucas White and Jimmy Watkinson were soo proud to be on stage and to have their Kindy friends come along and support! We continue to seek out opportunities to liase with local community groups, building our sense of who we are in the world around us.

FOREST KINDY
Our last Forest Kindy for the Term. The group placed their Rimu labels around the Reserve...We wonder if you can spot the Rimu Trees over the term break with your family??

WINTON PUBLIC LIBRARY - ROSS & RAEWYN
Every second Thursday afternoon, Ross & Raewyn will be coming along to share stories and songs with the group. We began this week and the children were enchanted. The gift of imagination, literacy, and language...a special time to come together as a group. We thank the Winton Public Library for their kind gesture and look forward to building this liason next term.

POLYFEST ART - WAKA
Special thanks to Jack Maguire, Rose's Dad for designing and sculpting our taurapa/backbone or stern for our waka. The taurapa is the carving situated at the rear of the waka that extends towards the heavens and joins Papatuanuku (Earth Mother) and Ranginui (Sky Father) maintaining connection, balance and alignment throughout the journey...The backbone ensures activities are aligned to the goal of the collective through regular engagement and reporting. (takitimuora.co.nz) The group created our tauihi to go at the front of the waka...watch this space!
POLYFEST PERFORMANCE - KAPAHAKA KAKAHU
This week we placed our order for piupiu (skirts) and tipare (headbands) for our Polyfest Performance. Thank you to Megs Mitchell for sourcing more sponsorship for us to be able to begin to have our dream realised for Polyfest 2016!
