This week we have focused on supporting children's well-being. DVD one explores ways in which tamariki can feel empowered to take ownership of washing and dressing themselves - good hygiene and using correct names of body parts. We brainstormed with tamariki how they can keep themselves safe in a variety of situations such as "putting on sunscreen on hot days" George shared. You may have noticed the environment set up to engage children in experiences to strengthen their well-being i.e. drawing themselves in a variety of mediums and naming different parts of their body and their uses.
What a fantastic morning we had at Limehill's Pet Show! The weather treated us to a lovely sunny morning where we got to see all the different pets both outside and inside the classrooms, and even giving some of the pet dogs and lambs a friendly pat. We were delighted to see some of our kindy friends with their whanau and family pets! The Buzzy Bee group project was received with such admiration that the Limehill staff wanted to keep it displayed in their reception area. WOW!! Tina pai rawa atu, excellent work tamriki!! A special thank you to all our parent helpers for making this morning possible.

Hooray!! We're back to Forest Kindy!
We're back into Forest Kindy after 2 weeks off due to forestry work being done. What an exciting time it was having new tamariki join the Forest Kindy whanau and on such a beautiful sunny day. Everyone discovered a change in the Forest due to some trees that have been cut down and how our favourite mud patches had now dried up for all the sunshine.

St Thomas/Winton School Pet Show Day
We didn't let the rain stop us from having fun at Winton School on Friday! Our kindy whanau observed all the different creations the school tamariki had made and the clever baking creations. The rained managed to scare off most of the pets and their owners outside. However, we spotted some friendly pet dogs outside and were lucky enough to be able to give them a pat on their wet fur coat. Another massive thank you to our parent helpers for making the morning possible.
Next week we will be moving forward with our Amazing Me programme and focusing on 'Belonging' DVD two. A friendly reminder for our Thurs/Fri group that we will be leaving sharp 8.45am on Thursday where we will be watching a live performance - Capital E Productions: Songs of the Sea.
Have a FANATIC weekend!!
Judy, Christina, Linda and Antonia :)
