MATARIKI FAMILY NIGHT....A BIG THANKS TO THE PARENT GROUP
What a fabulous night we had at Kindy on Wednesday, organised by the wonderful Parent Group. Star gazing, toasting marshmallows, watching The Seven Sisters of Matariki story being retold by the author on our big screen, hot chocolates, star cookies, twinkly stars and even a disco ball, and fun in the dark with torches and glow sticks! We thanked and farewelled our out-going Parent Group President, Megan Graham and family. And wow, what a turnout...a big thanks to the 77 children and families who came along for our celebrations. For nights such as these to continue the Parent Group really do need more volunteers to put their hand up and come onboard. Please let the teaching team know if you are willing to help out...The Kindergarten distinction continues to be our family involvement...many thanks.

POLYFEST ART: WAKA PROJECT
We hope to have our Waka and documentation finished by the end of next week...if you have some spare time we would love a hand with some final weaving - thanks to Lucas Campbell's Nana, Glenda, for coming in this week to work with the group. Our oars are in and we now look towards adding our Taurapa (stern) and Tauihu (front). As our art piece is rather large, the judges will be coming out to Winton Kindergarten to judge our entry this year! Thank you to Cooper McDowall and family for offering their fork lift and V Truck to transport our Waka if/when needed.

POLYFEST PERFORMANCE
This week we have been fortunate to received $500 of sponsorship towards our Kapahaka Kakadu/Polyfest Uniforms from local businesses - thanks!  Let us know if your business would like to help out...many thanks.

EXPRESS TIME
Check out some pics from our Express Time this week....each week we add on from the prior week's learning. This week the corrugated cardboard maze was added, creating a sensorial space for children to touch and feel the vibrations, listen, and explore.

Wow ... What a wonderful community we live in! Tks to Megs Mitchell & all the businesses around Winton who have supported our sponsorship goal to purchase our kapa haha costumes. And what about our new 'Express Time' ... an opportunity for all our children to be actively & imaginatively involved.
