Happy School Days to Thomas Turrell...A special farewell to the Turrell's with big sisters Elsie and Milly sharing a story with us at the end of the day on Wednesday.
And a warm welcome to two new Teaching Identities: we have Rachel Evans joining us as our new Forest Kindy Teacher & Hayley Rowland who has been relieving for us this week.
Kia Ora Rachel! |
Kia Ora Hayley |
Forest Kindy...A BIG thanks to the McDowall's for organising the Fire Engine to join us at the Reserve on Tuesday morning - SOOO much fun! Squirting the hose, learning about all the emergency equipment on board, and then getting a ride back to Kindy - a day to be treasured! Mary Witsey from The Eye newspaper popped along too! We shared with Mary how much we value our families bringing in their own family identity into our programme, as we continue to develop and grow a sense of our own unique identity - what makes us special - for Cooper and his family, this includes their strong involvement in the local Winton Volunteer Fire Brigade.
Jimmy the Geologist!
This week Jimmy brought along his Te Hikoi Rock Club collection, sharing his geological identity with us all...which got us thinking...If rocks could talk, what would they say?!
Thank you, Jimmy, for sharing your special taonga / treasures with us |
Another busy week ... check out our weekly newsletter for 'Happenings' next week.
Go the All Blacks v Pumas & on Sunday Silver Ferns v Jamaica. Do us proud!!!

Forest Kindy kids ... you were all soooo animated when you returned to Kindy on Tue. And all those pics on the Kai table spoke a million words.I look forward to reading your reflections in your journals.
