TERM 3 WEEK 6

On Monday we shared our place and our space with Sarndra and Wal as they completed Kindy building and playground audits, they loved coming in and meeting us all. On Wednesday we welcomed Senior Teacher Robyn Leckie for a formal visit. We are fortunate to have the support of a wonderful organisation, ensuring Winton Kindy continues to be a safe and happy place for us to come together and share in our learning and early years experiences.

 Haere Mai Georgina ...

This week we have welcomed Georgina Chapman into the Winton Kindy whanau, and will continue to share our learning community, our rituals and our Kindy-culture with her for the next 5 weeks. Be sure to introduce yourself and your child to Georgina as she comes to know who we are and what makes us special.

We continue to show our strength and resilience as 2020 evolves. And with this, we have the opportunity to delve deeper into connecting with our place, with the wider Winton community, through our CBD Historical Buildings project. Following along from last week, we introduced 3D representations to extend our ideas and perspectives. The Project Room has been a hive of activity, as children connect and create and construct - and deconstruct - and reconstruct their model buildings. This physical act articulates the abstract learning, unlearning and relearning that is taking place inside the minds and imaginations of the tamariki as they reflect, review and refine their mahi.

Daffodil Day - 28 Aug 2020

Today (Friday 28th August) we commemorated Daffodil Day. Another significant cause to show our Winton Kindy aroha.  Too many of us now know of or have been personally effected by cancer in some way, thank you to all who have donated and acknowledged this day by dressing up in your brightest yellow :)

What an array of yellow attire along with the empathetic awarness & appreciation of caring & considering others.   We jived through out the day to this well known Daffodil Day Flash Dance clip ...

See all of your smiling faces next week!!
