Daffodil Day
2020 marks 30 years of Daffodil Day in NZ. That's 30 years of coming together to raise much needed funds to support ALL people facing cancer. Thanks to everyone who donated to this worthy cause. To ALL our families that dressed up @ jivved away to our YouTube clip 'Daffodil Day Flash Dance' last Fri - GOOD ON YOU. It was indeed fun & fanciful way to appreciate this 'special' day.
Seasonal changes move from an interwoven tapestry of 'leaflessness' to the bursting buds of Spring - at times seamlessly. The first flower of Spring - the Daffodil a symbol of hope - new beginnings. The daffodil was first used in Toronto, Canada in the 1950's during, volunteer organised coffee mornings to raise money for cancer awareness & research. Each year, on the last Friday of August, over 11,000 volunteers become collectors. Daffodil Day has grown to become an iconic event in NZ & one of the biggest fundraising success stories. If you happened to be ONE of those volunteers - from everyone @ Winton Kindy - we sincerely share our THANKS! If you missed out or still wish to contribute we still have the QR App link - on the kitchen bench.
LOTS of updates to share with everyone ...

Something worth considering is the significance of these two nests ... obviously locally sourced materials. The first nest has leaves & twigs with sprinklings of feathers & interwoven is PLASTIC. The 2nd nest (Tks Taylor Thompson) is woven with twigs, sticks & wool. Let's NOT have plastic available for ALL our local 'nest builders'!!!
