2018 Murihiku Polyfest Kapahaka
Kapahaka rehearsals step up this week with the introduction of our Kakahu/uniform. The children had the opportuntity to try out the Kakadu, and to begin to grow a sense of what it will be like when we perform on stage at the ILT Stadium Southland on Tuesday the 28th August. What do you do with some M&M's & water?
Ashton & Hollie have both been participating in school visits at the mo. This week was a perfect opportunity to share with us their M&M School Science experiment - what will happen? Lots of predicting - Will they sink or will they float? Why have the colours come off - the seperation of colour - desperation & why hasn't the M&M dissolved? Why? LOTS of questions! This indeed has been a wonderful way to support both Ashton & Hollie's Transition to School process... now our question is - can we eat them? YES you can!!!Forest Kindy
On Tuesday Antonia swapped with Christina to join the Forest Kindy whanau...and what a small whanau we had! Only 6 tamariki! Donna & Adrienne also joined us as parent help. No job was too big for our group as we worked together to build the Dragon's Nest back up. We thought the Dragon may have needed our help to make the nest nice & warm for her egg. We worked tireless, collecting sticks, flax, and stones, completed with sparkles in the middle of the nest. Surely the Dragon will notice our sparkling gifts and leave her egg in the nest for us to discover next week!?Another GREAT week ... have a chillaxed weekend. A big YAHOO to the Southern Steel, Sharks & Southland Cricket this week & to all the rugby fans out there ... GO THE MIGHTY ALL BLACKS as they take on Australia in a Bledisloe match tomorrow.
